About this artwork
Made from a solid block of oak, presented on a 15 x 15 cm metal base, this unique piece was sculpted and then flame-fired.
It is a light, very vertical, totemic, slender piece.
The flame work continued and complemented the pure sculpture work.
Indeed, this sculpture was actually set on fire, with all the risks that this entails!: From mastery of the gesture (sculpture) to surprise and the risk of the flame!
A work on the strength of fragility,… on the timelessness of our human dimension.
Due to its very airy structure, this piece projects its shadow onto the surrounding walls, depending on the brightness or lighting, which adds to its presence.
Created in 2016, this sculpture was until today part of the artist's personal collection.
