About this artwork
I perceive the water's surface as a fluid canvas upon which the city's rhythmic geometries dissolve into a menacing, scarlet… abstraction. The deep, almost black shadows form a stark contrast to the fiery streaks of light that burrow through the composition like glowing lava. By deliberately choosing a narrow framing and playing with the dynamics of the current, I dissolve the spatial anchoring. The photograph becomes a contemplation of the surface's essence: the peaceful flow of the river gives way to a visual eruption.
