resembles that of Mediterranean locations thanks to the mitigating action of the lake. The intense color of the water forms the backdrop while the town is bathed in the warm light of the early afternoon sun. The painter has thus captured the memory of the atmosphere and light of the Brescia shore of Lake Garda with a painting style that recalls that of the Impressionists for the rapidity of the brush strokes, without preparatory drawing, in an extemporaneous and instinctive execution.
