About this artwork
From "The invisible cities":- In Cloe, a large city, the people passing through the streets do not know each other... no one greets anyone, their eyes meet for a second and then flee... a girl passes by he turns a parasol... a tattooed giant passes by... two twins... a blind man with a cheetah on his chain... so between those who by chance find themselves together... encounters, seductions, embraces, orgies take place without let us exchange a word… -
In this work I explored the sense of lack of communication that permeates large cities between past, present and future. Using acrylic, I fused styles such as futurism and surrealism to depict people, animals and architecture in an imaginary urban fabric where each figure is represented beyond the boundaries of time. The lively energy it expresses and the blue tones will transform any environment.
Maria Pia Mucci, dedicated to painting and engraving, trained in Siena, Trieste and Venice. He uses mixed techniques, from watercolor to oil, through etching and woodcut, in a style inspired by surrealism and metaphysics. Through the themes of the "City" and the "Synapses", he reflects on social evolution and human relationships. His works convey a profound vision of urban dynamics and interpersonal contacts from the high vantage point of surrealism, without ever losing their lightness.
