From "The invisible cities": - although located on dry ground, it stands on very high stilts, with many galleries and balconies... on stilts that climb over each other, connected by ladders... and protrude from them pulleys, lines and cranes... it is useless to establish whether Zenobia should be classified among the happy cities or the unhappy ones. It is not into these two species that it makes sense to divide the city but into two others: those… that continue through the years and mutations to give shape to desires and those in which desires either manage to erase the city or are erased by it -
In my work I imagined a city suspended on fragile stilts. The different shades of blue enhance the surreal atmosphere, while the geometric structures invite us to reflect on the complexity of our dreams in search of a place that transcends everyday reality. This painting, full of symbolism, will offer its host's space a window into unexplored worlds.
Maria Pia Mucci, dedicated to painting and engraving, trained in Siena, Trieste and Venice. He uses mixed techniques, from watercolor to oil, through etching and woodcut, in a style inspired by surrealism and metaphysics. Through the themes of the "City" and the "Synapses", he reflects on social evolution and human relationships. His works convey a profound vision of urban dynamics and interpersonal contacts from the high vantage point of surrealism, without ever losing their lightness.
