About this artwork
From "The invisible cities": - Called to dictate the rules for the foundation of Perinthia, the astronomers established the place and the day according to the position of the stars, traced the crossed lines of the decumanus and the cardo, oriented one like the course of the sun and the other as the axis around which the heavens rotate, they divided the map according to the twelve houses of the zodiac... Perinthia would have reflected the harmony… of the firmament...-
This work represents a vivid marriage of magical realism and futuristic perspectives, creating a dialogue between the starry night sky and the vibrant city below. I used oil to bring to life a rich palette of deep blues and warm oranges, inviting the viewer to reflect on the hidden meaning behind the constellations and imaginary architecture. Emotion transpires from the canvas, and brings energy and mystery to every environment.
Maria Pia Mucci, dedicated to painting and engraving, trained in Siena, Trieste and Venice. He uses mixed techniques, from watercolor to oil, through etching and woodcut, in a style inspired by surrealism and metaphysics. Through the themes of the "City" and the "Synapses", he reflects on social evolution and human relationships. His works convey a profound vision of urban dynamics and interpersonal contacts from the high vantage point of surrealism, without ever losing their lightness.
