About this artwork
In "Latitudes 4," I captured the essence of a tropical village at sunrise. The amber light flooding the sky is reflected in the calm waters, creating a chromatic dialogue with the vibrant orange flower dominating the foreground.
The traditional huts nestle harmoniously amidst lush vegetation—palm trees, banana trees, and bamboo—while the misty mountains on the horizon add a mystical dimension to the landscape. I wanted to capture that special feeling… of tropical mornings, where the coolness is still present but already carries the promise of warmth.
This work, drawn from my memories of French Guiana and Asia, illustrates the serene coexistence between human habitat and exuberant nature, the central theme of my "Latitudes" series, where I pay homage to the fragile ecosystems that have inspired me so much during my travels.

Martial Bidard, born in Paris and trained by Pierre Laurent Brenot, is a painter and draftsman who has embraced a nomadic journey across four continents.
