About this artwork
"Latitudes 8" is part of my research on the boundaries between reality and imagination. This semi-abstract oil on canvas evokes a tropical lagoon where the intense blue water interacts with a golden twilight sky. The slender palm trees seem to float between two worlds, their graceful silhouettes creating a vertical rhythm that contrasts with the horizontality of the colored masses. The vibrant palette combines deep turquoise blues with luminous ochres…
and touches of purplish brown, translating that magical hour when day turns to night. In this painting, I explore geographical and mental limits, inviting the viewer to travel between different states of consciousness. Water, the central element, becomes here a mirror that reflects both the visible landscape and more secret interior territories.
