About this artwork
In "Latitudes 5," I created a tropical landscape bathed in an orange evening light that transforms the hills into warm chromatic masses. Palm trees with slender trunks and glowing red leaves seem to blaze in this light, surrounding a village of traditional huts that blends harmoniously into the landscape.
In the foreground, plants with multicolored foliage—orange, green, and yellow—create a lush vegetation typical of equatorial regions. The purple… water area adds a touch of mystery and freshness to the heart of this fiery composition.
This work, the fruit of my travels and my long experience in French Guiana, captures the magic of tropical evenings where nature and human habitat blend into an almost unreal atmosphere, both familiar and dreamlike.
