About this artwork
Improvisation N°6 is an oil painting on canvas that, as the title suggests, is born from an instinctive and free creative process. The work is characterized by an interweaving of shapes and colors that overlap and merge, creating a dynamic and vibrant image.
The painting presents an intense and varied chromatic palette, with a prevalence of dark tones that make the brighter brush strokes of color stand out. The shapes, however, are fluid and sinuous,… almost as if they wanted to represent the movement and energy of music.
The work can be interpreted as a sort of pictorial transposition of a musical improvisation, where the artist lets himself be guided by the inspiration of the moment to create a unique and unrepeatable work.

Massimo Rubbi born in Ferrara in 1960 is an Italian artist who has undertaken a rather particular artistic path. After a high level musical education at the Conservatory of Ferrara, graduating he then continued his studies in composition and jazz music. This solid musical base has profoundly influenced his subsequent artistic career as a painter. he discovered a visceral passion for painting. This dual soul of his, musical and pictorial, is reflected in his works, often characterized by a strong expressiveness and a vibrant energy.
