About this artwork
I wanted to call this work First Counterpoint for the overlapping of the signs which have been interpreted by me as multiple overlapping melodies as in polyphonic music. Note against note called in the Middle Ages punctus contra punctum and sign account sign in this work of mine.

Massimo Rubbi born in Ferrara in 1960 is an Italian artist who has undertaken a rather particular artistic path. After a high level musical education at the Conservatory of Ferrara, graduating he then continued his studies in composition and jazz music. This solid musical base has profoundly influenced his subsequent artistic career as a painter. he discovered a visceral passion for painting. This dual soul of his, musical and pictorial, is reflected in his works, often characterized by a strong expressiveness and a vibrant energy.
