About this artwork
The title "Filastrocca Seconda Variazione" evokes an idea of rhythm, repetition and variation, which is reflected in the visual composition where similar elements are repeated with slight changes, creating a sort of visual melody. "Variazione" suggests that this work could be part of a series or an exploration of a theme. The interweaving of the shapes and their arrangement suggest a sense of movement and vitality, almost as if the figures were in… continuous evolution or dance. The black lines outline figures that recall abstract, almost biological or amoeboid forms, which intersect and merge with each other. There are no rigid or geometric contours, but a continuous flow. The painting is divided almost in half by a horizontal line, which separates two main chromatic fields: the upper part is dominated by orange, while the lower one by light blue. However, the abstract shapes extend and intersect between these two areas, creating continuity.
« "Every sign traced, and sound emitted by me, always arouses the same amazement and emotions as if all this were for the first time." »
