About this artwork
In this work I use a series of blues of different shades. This chromatic choice is not accidental: blue is often associated with melancholy, emotional depth, but also with spirituality and calm, sensations that marry well with the essence of jazz.
The work is characterized by organic and sinuous forms, which intersect and merge with each other. One can glimpse abstractions that suggest the shape of a saxophone, although not in a traditional figurative… manner. The curved lines and fluid volumes recall the sound vibrations of the instrument, its ability to modulate the sound in an expressive and enveloping way.
« "Every sign traced, and sound emitted by me, always arouses the same amazement and emotions as if all this were for the first time." »
Massimo Rubbi born in Ferrara in 1960 is an Italian artist who has undertaken a rather particular artistic path. This solid musical base has profoundly influenced his subsequent artistic career as a painter. he discovered a visceral passion for painting. This dual soul of his, musical and pictorial, is reflected in his works, often characterized by a strong expressiveness and a vibrant energy.
