About this artwork

A female nude figure lying on white cloth , partly reflected . These paintings are a series of nude or draped figures (young women/girls), in interior settings sometimes erotic or sensual, sometimes reflective and intimate. Painting the human figure is for me the most interesting challenge in art. It tests my draftsmanship and challenges my skill with using tonal relationships in paint. It also requires what I think of as collaboration with a skilled… life model, who is essential to the process. Without a good rapport between me and my model, the painting doesn't come together.
