About this artwork
When I first meet someone, and they discover I’m an artist, they often ask what my artwork is about.
It is challenging to describe, but I’m improving. As a student, my English teachers praised my writing but criticized my overuse of adverbs and adjectives. Later, I realized I’m visually oriented and began expressing myself through drawing and painting.
My art captures my visual experiences and imagination; I’d rather show than tell, allowing my… unconscious imagination to influence the process.
I’m attracted to mundane locations, settings, and objects. I develop the result through my experience and knowledge of painting, as well as my imagination. I use my skills with oil painting, airbrush painting, photography, and printmaking, combined through digital software and tools. I never know what the next artwork will look like; curiosity guides me there. I intentionally leave my paintings unframed to reveal the sides of the painting.
