About this artwork
Midnight Goddess represents the intersection of my digital and traditional practices. This work is a hybrid journey, blending the precision of digital collage with the tactile depth of oil on canvas. By integrating seamless patterns of nocturnal flora, seeds, and ancient celestial symbols, I have created a sanctuary for the 'darkest hours.' It is a tribute to the continuity of life. A reminder that growth and beauty do not cease when the sun goes…
down, but rather transform into a different, more mysterious state of being. Sold to a private collector in France.

Michel Devanakis is a contemporary figurative painter whose work is built around the idea of the threshold. A state of inner tension where opposing forces coexist without resolution.
Born to Greek parents in Cameroon and shaped by a life across different cultural environments, his work reflects a sustained interest in boundaries. Between visible and invisible, private and public, control and emergence.
After more than two decades in graphic design and illustration, he turned fully to painting in 2013. This background remains visible in the precision of his compositions and the clarity of his visual structure.
He develops each painting through a process that moves from digital construction to direct execution. The result is a controlled balance between intention and unpredictability, where each image holds tension without forcing resolution.
Based in Greece, his work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across Europe.
