About this artwork
This piece, Sandra (The Blue Hand), reflects my acquired academic skill to harmoniously combine elements of the classical period with that of the contemporary era to bring it to life. The main focus of this painting centers on the imaginative blue hand that the controversial young lady uses to administer some magical pleasure to herself. Indeed, her right hand evoques a delicate and powerfull instrument, allowing her to travel emotionally beyond…
time and space. I purposely use this blue tone to create the sublime nature of the hand through which Sandra manifests freely her feminity in her own confort zone without any distraction, translating into a trascendental phenomenon. In a sense, her blue hand represents her window of introspection, where art lovers or collectors alike may be able to inmmerse themselves in the very existence of colors. With the interplay of oil colors, including the cerulean blue, I succeeded in creating a space, the blue hand, reflecting Sandra´s connection.
