About this artwork

Paying a close attention to Eva´s behavior in the classroom and in the breakroom, I could tell that she was in love with an invisible soulmate. Often, she spent hours lost in the sky. It was obvious that she was waiting for someone to appear in her life to bring her a little joy and happiness. On Valentine´s eve, as her friends were engaged in romantic conversation in the school yard, she remained silent. Having captured the image of sadness on her… face, arriving home from school, I decided to create an artwork, Dreaming of a Soulmate, based on my observation to Eva, a beautiful girl who was yet to find her soulmate. To create this imaginary piece, I selected the colored pencils deemed appropriate for Valentine´s Day. Indeed, the colors such as pink and green, the dominants tones, reflect a deep sense of hope and love. Hence, the name of this piece: Dreaming of a Soulmate.
