About this artwork
I created Father and Son in the middle of the threat posed by Covid-19 to human societies. Although I was out of canvas to allow me to paint, I had plenty of art papers available. This painting evoques the contrasting temperament of two individuals from two differing generations. Father and Son represent the daily struggles facing certain member of the new generation to acquire the approval of their parents, in terms of who they are in this society.…
The father, a famous political figure and his son, a young man, who aspires to be a World Disney´s prince. Always standing behind his son, he strives to impose his authority and power. However, his son, the dreamer, in contrast, proved to be a soft and respectful gentleman, who displays his youthful wonder and innocence. In fact, the father´s facial expresion reveals a weight of responsibily to watch over his son shoulder. His son, on the other hand, through his eyes, expresses that his profound desire is to set free to live his life.
