About this artwork
Drawing deeply from my childhood memories, I brought this piece to life, The Comedian in Shadows. Although, the pandemic of 2020 barried many lives, life demonstrated that it was imposible to defeat. I was so afraid of going out to buy art materials, to protect my life, but I was inspired and determined to create this piece, which conveys the juxtaposition between life and death, a continuing phenomenon. the state of vulnerability of a being who´s passion is to spread joy and happiness even in an era of sorrow. For this creation, I used an acrylic marker for the drawing and vibrant acrylic colors. Anyone who looks at this painting will be able to see the hidden struggle in the comedian facial. Indeed, this piece depicts the duality of the comedian joyful emotions on stage while doing his best to conceil his true emotion of sadness. Thus, it is obvious that on stage, the comedian had no choice but to act with his invisible twin behind him.
