Not all caves are dark.
Some are lined with living crystal — amethyst and jade and colours that have no names — and at their heart, something ancient waits. Not sleeping. Just still.
This dragon was not born from fire or fury.
He grew here, slowly, the way crystals grow — layer by layer, in silence, over time. His scales carry the colours of the cave itself, as if the earth claimed him, or he claimed the earth, and neither can remember who came first.…
His gaze is not a challenge. It is an invitation.
Come deeper. Stay longer. Look at what you have been avoiding.
I painted this with the intention of capturing energy that doesn't shout — it hums. The kind that moves through stone and bone and reaches something pre-verbal, pre-rational. Something that simply knows.
The longer you look, the more you find.
That is not a promise about the painting.
It is a promise about you.
