About this artwork
After a year marked by Corona and many bans and measures, this work was created. As the title suggests, the two-parter speaks of the longing for the sea or lake. Water, vacation, freedom. And nowadays, who doesn't want to pack their bags regardless of any virus or test, book a flight carefree and then get out into the world! Seeing something different, not being limited in what you do and in the geographical environment.
In order to at least experience… the whole thing visually and haptically, the artist brings the holiday into her own four walls. What better way to represent water than through resin?! And how could a beach be more real than actually made out of sand?
The bonus: To stimulate all the senses, the sand smells of coconut. The vacation can come! And home. Also: cast diamonds in the sand.
Since it is very heavy: The picture shows heavy-duty hooks. A matching hook for the wall is included.
« I see my painting process as healing my own soul through the liberation from convention and limitation. The end product heals and releases other souls. »
