"Ready" is a minimalist abstract sculpture inspired by the silent dialogue between architecture and nature. By distilling the forms of houses and expansive landscapes into a singular object, this piece explores the concept of being "rooted" within one’s environment—a state of quiet alertness and stability.
This work is a core part of my "Handscape" (Rankvaizdis) series. To me, a landscape is not merely a view to be observed; it is something we shape… and hold with our hands. By transforming the silhouette of a dwelling into a physical bronze entity, I give the horizon a tangible weight, inviting the viewer to feel the transition from geometric precision to the fluid textures of the earth.
Note: This sculpture is individually hand-cast in my private foundry using the lost-wax technique. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the casting and patination process before dispatch. Each piece is signed by the artist and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
Nerijus Kisielius, a master sculptor rooted in the Lithuanian classical tradition, harnesses bronze, wood, felt, and paint to bridge ancient techniques and contemporary stillness. His process revolves around lost-wax casting, where he transitions soft, hand-sculpted wax into enduring bronze forms—each piece embracing tactile textures and the narrative interplay of figure and shadow. Through highly symbolic sheep motifs and abstracted objects, his art radiates vulnerability, communal warmth, and a serene pastoral quiet, inviting the viewer to share in a sense of timelessness and the profound silence of fleeting moments made eternal.
