"Resting Together" is a profound study of trust and mutual rest. In this bronze composition, a seated human figure leans against a standing sheep, their forms creating a perfect emotional balance. While the horizontal lines of the figure anchor the piece to the earth, the sheep stands as a guardian of stillness. This sculpture celebrates silent companionship and the pastoral peace found in another’s presence—a soulful exploration of tenderness and… shared sanctuary.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax technique at 1200°C in my own foundry, the work captures the universal language of companionship. The tactile, hand-finished bronze invites the viewer to feel the "Anchor of Silence" that exists between the two figures, bridging the gap between the human spirit and the raw elegance of nature.
Note: Individually hand-cast to order in my private foundry. Please allow 2-3 weeks for casting and patination. Signed by the artist with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Nerijus Kisielius, a master sculptor rooted in the Lithuanian classical tradition, harnesses bronze, wood, felt, and paint to bridge ancient techniques and contemporary stillness. His process revolves around lost-wax casting, where he transitions soft, hand-sculpted wax into enduring bronze forms—each piece embracing tactile textures and the narrative interplay of figure and shadow. Through highly symbolic sheep motifs and abstracted objects, his art radiates vulnerability, communal warmth, and a serene pastoral quiet, inviting the viewer to share in a sense of timelessness and the profound silence of fleeting moments made eternal.
