About this artwork
A natural landscape emerges from the raw power of charcoal on paper, where barely defined mountains are constructed from gestures, erasures, and superimpositions. The image does not seek to represent, but to suggest: a territory that exists between memory and perception, where matter constantly dissolves and rebuilds itself.
At the bottom, a dashed orange line traces an open path, like a footprint or an unfinished boundary. A gesture that introduces… a subtle human presence: the act of observing, of traversing, of standing before the immensity.
Contemplation speaks of the silent encounter between being and landscape. The work captures that intimate moment when looking becomes experience, and the territory ceases to be external, becoming internal. A piece that invites us to pause, breathe, and inhabit the void.
