About this artwork
The Japanese poet Ryūta Iida wrote: "Winter deepens / As deepens / A father's affection." My work is inspired by this haiku.
What we see is a "triptych" on raw cardboard—a humble, rough, and unassuming material—organized from left to right like a progression from black to white, from night to light. The haiku is a simple, unadorned form. To paint on industrial… cardboard—a transient, ordinary material—is to choose the same rejection of refinement. The truth of winter, and of paternal love, needs no beautiful support.

« My research takes the direction of "parasitic" minimalism. I claim the expression of a rigorous geometric structure endangered by the soft and hazardous trace of the brush. »
