The title "Emergence" finds its literal resonance in the representation of an element that seems to emerge from the water, materialized by this wide, intense blue band that occupies the lower half of the image.
The element, with its golden and dark textures, appears precisely at the boundary between two worlds: partially submerged in the deep blue and partially exposed in the upper white space. The black splashes and projections that punctuate the… composition reinforce this idea of upward movement, of bursting forth.
The limited palette, the strong contrasts between saturated blue, white and touches of gold, amplify the dramatic character of this moment of appearance, transforming a physical phenomenon into a visual metaphor for birth, revelation or transformation.

Originally from the tranquil scenery of Switzerland, Patrick Piccinelli set forth on an enriching academic journey that took him to the distinguished corridors of ECAL (University of Art and Design, Lausanne, Switzerland), a stronghold of artistic brilliance on the global frontier. The respected tradition of flawless typography for which Switzerland is famed, coupled with the deep-seated influences of Swiss graphic design, known for its austere, minimalistic, and refined aesthetics, significantly guided Piccinelli’s artistic path. His palette is firmly rooted in geometric minimalism, a stylistic reverberation reminiscent of the illustrious “Zürich movement.” This era of artistic zeal was pioneered by notable figures such as Max Bill, Richard Paul Lohse, and Verena Loewenberg, luminaries who were the frontrunners of geometric or constructed artistry. His works have recently been acquired by collectors in the United States, Japan and Europe.
