About this artwork
In my work I focused on the essence of analogue photography to capture a scene in pure black and white. The image shows a seemingly floating form embedded in a sea of texture and shading. It is a representation of isolation and at the same time a deep connection with the environment. This piece is intended to invite the viewer to reflect on the coexistence of emptiness and fullness. It will bring a dynamic energy to any room, a mix of contemplation…

Paul Gross’ photographs have been extensively exhibited in both Germany and Japan. Within his art, he explores and expands the limits of classic photography. The relationship between photography and object plays an important role in all of Gross’ work. Using various techniques and equipment, including movement and exposure time, objects in his pieces can appear abstract and bizarre. Thereby the object loses its function as a “memory aid”, blurring the definition and limitations of the medium.
