About this artwork
The work I titled “Apocalypse” conveys a profound, disconcerting, almost primordial visual force. It is a triptych that speaks of destruction, mutation, but also of a possible renewal that insinuates itself between the cracks of the disaster. It is not a definitive apocalypse, but rather a threshold, a point of passage in which the forms are not yet dead and not yet born: they are becoming.
Apocalypse offers no consolation, but suggests that even… in the most total ruin there is a pulsating core of generative power. It is a work that forces the viewer to confront instability, with the possibility that what we fear as the “end” is only the beginning of another vision.

« If we assign a place to art by designating it a space in which it must act, then we run the risk of rendering it harmless. Art must be subversive. -Anselm Kiefer »
