About this artwork
On a dictionary page dedicated to Archetto, a photograph of a dictionary page intertwines with pictorial and graphic signs that multiply his faces. The brushstrokes veil and transform the stone, allowing evanescent figures to emerge between text and image. The result is a reflection on duplicity: life and memory, word and image, order and chaos.

« If we assign a place to art by designating it a space in which it must act, then we run the risk of rendering it harmless. Art must be subversive. -Anselm Kiefer »
Pietro Daresta is an experienced artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in France, the United Arab Emirates, and Monaco. His works explore the themes of humanity and its frailties, the passage of time, and the observation of the universe, where everything is destined to change. In Daresta's most recent compositions, he has developed a more personal artisitc approach, moving from the sphere of minimalism and the conceptual towards the informal.
