The series ATTITUDES deals with the differences between how things appear and what lies behind the appearances. It is a social commentary on the alienating reality that often lays behind the facade of beauty and harmony that society insists we cultivate and project in our daily lives. upon closer study, we see that the elegant composition set in a comfortable chromatic environment is the result of a body position that is anything but comfortable. On the contrary, it probably involves considerable stress and tension given the position of the leg at a 90° angle from a normal position. The truth of any given situation is rarely what it first appears to be.

Navigating multiple mediums - moving from postgraduate studies in economic theory to a career as an internationally lauded photographer, conceptual new media artist and composer, canadian R. Scott MacLeay's career is richly varied.
