I often create studio studies on small canvases before starting on the large canvas.
Experiment with composition, colors, and techniques.
Some studies already have the quality of a finished work.
This work asks whether identity only begins where conformity ends!?
I call these "selected studio studies". They are framed, 34 cm x 34 cm, 5 cm deep, and therefore have an appropriate presence and value.

My work arises from a fascination with ambivalence.
Trust-distrust, freedom-order, reason-emotion, closeness-isolation and much more, all at the same time.
This perspective stems from 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and creative mind in my trade fair construction company, where responsibility, economics, structure and creative design and thinking were inextricably linked.
In my works I translated these tensions into images - decisively and openly to resonance.
I paint lived ambivalences.
