About this artwork
In the lower part of my image, you see a dark blue area, symbolizing uncertainty. Above it is a red wire rope. Above that are three balancing figures. The blue figure symbolizes confidence, followed by a red figure representing risk, and the yellow figure representing opportunity.
Everyone is moving step by step towards the horizon (the yellow line between uncertainty and light blue sky). My picture tells the story of a crisis in my company that… initially seemed insurmountable. Through slow, deliberate progress towards the "horizon," towards a solution,
I was able to find a way. The event inspired this image idea. "Tightrope Act," from the series: Speechless - what words cannot capture. 100 cm x 80 cm. Acrylic and oil on canvas.
This image can encourage you to take the next step even though the outcome is uncertain.
My work arises from a fascination with contradictory states that exist simultaneously: Trust-distrust, freedom-order, reason-emotion, closeness-isolation, and much more. This perspective stems from 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and creative mind in my trade fair construction company, where responsibility, economics, structure and creative design and thinking were inextricably linked. In my works, I translate these tensions into images—decisively and openly to resonance. I capture the ineffable in images.
