About this artwork
A vibrant streetscape, crisscrossed by light and movement. Skyscrapers tower into the sky as if trying to swallow the horizon. In the midst of this urban dynamism stands a deer—proud, powerful, out of place, yet full of presence. "Roaring City" asks: Who doesn't belong here?
The deer or the city? The work combines expressive texture with realistic elements, allowing both worlds to collide—the wild and the tamed, the primal and the civilized.
This… work is for you if you seek poetry in contradiction, if you want to feel the tension between nature and civilization. When this work hangs in your home, it will transform the atmosphere of the room.
It brings movement and tranquility at the same time—urban energy meets the quiet power of nature. With its dynamic color scheme, "Roaring City" appears vibrant, almost vibrant, while the stag creates a pool of tranquility—a dialogue that never runs dry.
My work arises from a fascination with ambivalence. Trust-distrust, freedom-order, reason-emotion, closeness-isolation and much more, all at the same time. This perspective stems from 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and creative mind in my trade fair construction company, where responsibility, economics, structure and creative design and thinking were inextricably linked. In my works I translated these tensions into images - decisively and openly to resonance. I paint lived ambivalences.
