About this artwork
Venus, the foam-born. Botticelli's work, The Birth of Venus from the Shell, is well-known. But I didn't want a nude figure. For me, the face is much more important. Therefore, I decided to create only the head. However, the connection to the shell, and thus to the birth of Venus from the sea, should be preserved. I carved the sculpture from the trunk of a walnut tree.
