About this artwork
"Red 2" continues the journey begun with "Red 1," deepening my exploration of the power of pure color and its ability to construct an interior space. Here too, I work with subtle layering: yellow ochre, transparent white, and a brown glaze prepare the ground for the red to breathe and reveal its subtlest vibrations.
In this second work, light traverses the surface horizontally, transforming the red into an open, vibrant, almost pulsating field.… The central rectangle, slightly offset, doesn't impose itself: it emerges. It's a silent presence that suggests depth, a form that exists more by subtraction than by contrast.
"Red 2" is a moment of both calm and tension, a balance between matter and transparency. It's an invitation to immerse yourself in the vibration of color, its primal energy, its ability to create a mental and meditative space.

I'm a self-taught painter, and what sets me apart is my free and instinctive use of color, which in my work is layered to create dense textures and crowded urban landscapes. I began with more spontaneous and light-hearted works, then evolved towards a more conscious and critical approach. At the same time, I explore abstraction with works inspired by Pollock and Rothko. My Cities are born from abstract foundations. The City as a complex organism that reflects the contradictions of our time. My series explore three great fragilities: the vulnerability of cities to climate change, the wounds inflicted by man through wars and manipulated ideologies, and the inequalities between glittering centers and forgotten peripheries. I paint universal, non-geographic cities as a metaphor for the human condition: places that bear the hopes, scars, and tensions of our time.
