In Perceptual Form, I’m exploring how perception organizes itself before meaning arrives. The composition unfolds as layered bands of color, gesture, and line—fields that register movement, interruption, and rhythm rather than narrative. Dripped passages, wavering lines, and scraped surfaces move horizontally across the canvas, suggesting fluctuations in signal, breath, or thought. Above this, geometric forms hover in quiet tension, acting as perceptual… anchors that momentarily stabilize the field. I’m interested in how the eye navigates these shifts—how form emerges, dissolves, and re-forms through attention. The work invites sustained looking, allowing perception itself to become the subject rather than the image it assembles.
I am a painter and photographer whose work grows out of a long engagement with sculpture, art history, and arts education across diverse cultural contexts. My practice is process-based, shaped by layering, erasure, and restraint, allowing each surface to evolve through time rather than resolve quickly.
