About this artwork
The pangolin is the most poached animal in Africa. Not least because it is nocturnal, I have never seen one, as I refuse to participate in so-called night drives, where the surroundings are illuminated with bright spotlights, blinding and paralyzing the wildlife for extended periods, thus leaving it defenseless against predators.
The picture is mounted in a blue shadow gap frame. The frame is not included in the price. However, I'm happy to give… it to nice people as a gift, though without guarantee.

Rolf Lorenz works primarily with acrylic paints on canvas and brings a rich background in painting, film, and photography. His technique is experimental, blending a wide variety of materials and uniting classical painting with narrative elements. His style addresses political and social themes, which he powerfully commentates on and critically interprets. His works possess great emotional power: His art denounces injustices, shakes people up, and challenges the viewer to observe and reflect.
