About this artwork
In this piece, I embraced analogue techniques to capture the timeless, mysterious essence of the nature of the Florida Everglades through black-and-white photography. I aimed to evoke a sense of quiet introspection and the haunting beauty of the forest. This artwork will bring a contemplative, serene energy to any space, inviting you to pause and explore the depths of stillness and shadow.
This image was captured with an 8 x 10" large format pinhole… camera. A pinhole camera has no viewfinder, no lens, and no electronics.

I love working with one of my vintage cameras. My cameras range in age from 85 to 45 years old and in film formats from 2 1/4 × 2 1/4 inch to 8 × 10 inch. I also love working with alternative processes, such as pinhole photography. Somebody said once about one of my pinhole Everglades images that the image Really conveys that Everglades look! That was one of the nicest comments I have ever received. Is that not what photographers are going for? That moment that the subject, the viewer, and the photographer all become one?
Over the years, I had several solo and shared shows in The Netherlands and West Palm Beach, FL. Currently, I have work in a permanent gallery inside the Gaylord Hotels and Resorts in Orlando. FL., other nationwide ventures, and private collectors. I am an active board member of the Homestead Center of the Arts.
