About this artwork
I was interested in seeing how dark I could paint a picture and still have light in it.
I started by painting the canvas completely black.
Then I made the background with spray paint. The tree, fence and bird were finally painted with regular black acrylic.
It was really a fun picture to paint.
About the motiv.
Few have seen this mysterious bird.
Ravens are part of Norse mythology. Odin had two ravens, Hugin and Munin. They flew out every day to… observe the world.
The night raven invites us to listen, observe and act – not only for the species, but for the entire ecosystem that makes our world alive.
