The abstract work was created in 2014 using the action painting technique, that is, abstract expressionism (the technique that made Jackson Pollock famous) with the addition of a material layer on the background.
Action painting, sometimes called gestural abstraction or abstract expressionism, is a style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dripped, thrown, or smeared onto the canvas, rather than carefully applied. The resulting work emphasizes… the physical act of painting itself.
I love creating these works from time to time, in moments of greater psychophysical stress as it is an action that totally relaxes me. There are therefore few works made with this technique and they are all unique and particular pieces.
