About this artwork
In this work, the artist juxtaposes innocence and revolt. The face of a child, drawn as a fragile icon, emerges from a cloud of coloured smoke, carried by the silhouette of a demonstrator. A pacifier, symbol of vulnerability, contrasts violently with the smoke bomb, universal sign of contestation.
Between realistic photography and symbolic collage, the image blurs the landmarks: is it a scene of struggle, a dream or a visual prophecy?
By confronting… childhood and violence, sweetness and chaos, the artist questions contemporary society and its heritage.
This piece is part of the serie The Africa Power, where digital art becomes a space of resistance and reflection, a way to transform pain and anger into a visual language universal.

I’m Sar La Rouge, a Franco-Togolese digital artist based in Cape Town. My work combines photography, digital collage, and new technologies to explore how images influence the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
Using photographs from my personal archive, I create layered and colourful compositions that mix emotion, culture and identity. As a self-taught artist, I approach digital art freely and intuitively, always experimenting with new ways to create.
My work often touches on themes of femininity, technology, and contemporary society, while celebrating visibility, and self-expression.
Today, I continue to expand my practice through physical prints, immersive installations, video, and AI, using digital art as a space without limits.
