The soul of a tree: "OLD OLIVIER"
I sought to paint not only a tree, but the time it has passed through.
I sculpted the gnarled trunk with impasto strokes, mixing ochres and reds to give substance to its memory, to its unwavering strength.
The foliage, lighter, is a whisper of green and yellow, the breath of life that persists.
It's the contrast between the deep earth and the aerial light.
I sought to paint not only a tree, but the time it has passed through.
