About this artwork
That particular painting is a Dream he remembered vividly, and Steven thinks it had to tell him something. The imagination and imagery came from somewhere, and he decided to paint what he saw. Yes, Steven dreamed about Carousel with different personages, but he put a meaning by changing it. It is the Carousel of life, where everybody is masked and pretending it is something else. The only pure and sincere is the child, and Lamb painted him naked.

« My perception of the world is always from a comical point of view. I have reached the conclusion for myself, that what matters the most, is the human ability to laugh. »
Steven Lamb is an award-winning artist based in Canada whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States and Brazil. Creating in a distinctive style which he describes as being both whimsical and grotesque, he views his works as a tool for social commentary, not to criticize, but rather, to amuse and entertain. Lamb takes viewers on a journey through the streets of Montreal and Paris, often portraying café scenes, circuses, musicians, and clowns.
