About this artwork
I took a collection of confetti people on a 'swalkeling' trip to central Hannover, Germany and let them drift on the Maschsee lake in the centre of the city, photographing their journey. The lake conceived in the 19th century, was finally dug out in the 1930s by workers on the breadline, many of whom had to supply their own tools and recieved hardly any reward for their labour.
Today this artificial lake thrives at the heart of the city, creating… a cultural and recreational focal point. You would not imagine that it had been created through the blood sweat and tears of so many workers.
In 'Maschsee - Hannover', I give my confetti ghosts the freedom to roam and to tell their story in this image.
The limited edition photographic print is printed on high quality matt photographic paper and ready to frame. It is signed on the back to retain the integrity of the image.
