About this artwork
In 'Venice - sinking city' I took a collection of confetti flames and people on a 'swalkeling' trip to Italy and let them drift on the canals of Venice.
This photoshoot led to a discovery of the reflective opportunity of Venetian gondolas, the hulls of which (still floating as the city sinks) reflected my confetti. These art works had a freedom to roam, sometimes disappearing, other times re appearing in unexpected corners, taking on a life of their… own once installed. The vectors of water, gravity and the actual movement of gondolas in the canals themself, propelled the confetti out into the lido and to find different resting places, to dissappear, hide in crevases or under other objects or to simply desolve. This photograph has been digitally manipulated.
The limited edition photographic print is printed on high quality matt photographic paper and ready to frame. It is signed on the back to retain the integrity of the image.
