About this artwork
During lockdown, we were confined to the four walls of our own homes as the news streamed grim and spectacular images of world events into our living rooms. I began by painting these circular scenes from the news media and then realising I had no physical space in which to exhibit this work, I reimagined and furnished rooms I knew from memory, curating the small `Newsblitz´ paintings in these interiors.
In 'Truth' I evoke views of a garden I know… very well in London and curate the following paintings on the wall; 'Minneapolis May 20' and 'Burning ghats, Varanasi Sept 20.' Wallpaper design is entitled; 'Inquisition Anaglypta relief ' Nov 20. Carpet design; 'Millions misery woollen loop,' March 21. Chair embroidered surface; 'Millions red' April21.
This custom print has a matt surface and looks like it has been physically painted by hand with a gouache type surface, due to the print process. This original art work will be signed with edition on the front.

Susie Wright is a London born artist and curator who lives and works in Germany. With environment at the heart of her practice, she uses a range of experimental processes to create her own personal iconography. Using her experience of place and landscape, she weaves concepts together into multi-layered collections. Works on paper, installation, painting and digital drawing, make up her portfolio.
