About this artwork
Printed cotton threads with hand-painted details.
Small hand-painted squares hover in tight vertical rows above a snow-covered range, like coded signals suspended in the atmosphere. Color intrudes on the monochrome landscape as pure, unexplained presence.

Natalia y Salomon Sutton is a Mexican visual artist whose multidisciplinary background spans filmmaking, photography, painting, textiles, and installation. She employs deeply handcrafted techniques—layering archival prints, thread, encaustic, oil paint, and hand-cut paper—to fragment and transform images, creating unique and tactile objects that defy digital reproducibility. Her emotionally resonant works evoke the tension between memory and absence, encouraging the viewer to slow down, look closely, and rediscover physical presence in a fleeting, immaterial world.
