About this artwork
This work evokes the timeless beauty of rocky landscapes and calm waters. Each figurative detail suggests a certain serenity and an inner journey.
It is an invitation to contemplation and escape. It is presented in a black or oak frame, upon request.
This work is produced using Heliogravure on a photopolymer plate and 300gsm Hahnemühle paper.
Photogravure is a craft technique dating back to the 19th century for reproducing an image in large numbers;… it is used today mainly in the artistic field.
This artwork on paper is the result of transferring an image from one of my paintings onto a photopolymer plate using photosensitive gelatin heated under ultraviolet light in a UV exposure unit. It is then hand-inked and printed on a hand-operated press in my studio, much like a fine art printer.
« For the composition of the work, I am looking for a poetry of mystery, a certain vision of reality. »
Sylvie Poupé is an award-winning French painter who has exhibited her work both nationally and in the Middle East. She describes her artistic journey as a quest, that of "transcribing nature within a unique universe." In her paintings, Sylvie frames her compositions as the starting point of her exploration. The frame acts as a window onto unexplored landscapes, revealing the diversity of nature. In her engraving work, Sylvie emphasizes poetry derived from observing the natural world. Her creations are built upon the interplay of lines, shapes, and colors. In this way, Sylvie creates a harmonious and vibrant whole.
