About this artwork
This artwork evokes the timeless beauty of a mountain landscape, blending rocks and tranquil waters. Each figurative detail suggests a certain serenity by the water's edge. The ibis is the central element of the work, embodying majesty and elegance within a natural setting.
It is an invitation to contemplation and escape. It is presented in a black or oak frame.
This work is created using heliogravure on a photopolymer plate and 300gsm Hahnemühle… paper. A Japanese paper has been mounted on top, giving the whole piece a slightly filtered effect.
Photogravure is a craft technique dating back to the 19th century for reproducing an image in large numbers; it is used today mainly in the artistic field.
It is the result of transferring an image of one of my paintings onto a photopolymer plate heated under ultraviolet light in a UV exposure unit. The plate is then inked by hand and printed in my studio.
